Background information on Quizizz

In 2015, Quizizz was founded by Ankit Gupta and Deepak Joy Cheenath, while teaching remedial Mathematics in a school in Bengaluru, India. Today Quizizz supports millions of students from all over the world. With over 65 million active users, it is the 5th largest Edtech platform used globally. The vendor is Quizizz Incorporated. 
Anh Tuan Pham (2023) quotes Mei et al 2018 as saying that Quizizz a free gamified online-based quiz tool, allows learners to practice through quizzes on computers, smartphones ad tablets. It can create a multiplayer game, which is an exciting activity for learners. Classrooms need to be interesting and interactive. During the COVID-19 pandemic, educators had to find new ways of reaching their individual target and also a way to remotely test their students' abilities in a fun and interactive way.                  Quizizz Lesson

Quizizz allows for: 

  1.  Instructor paced lessons or quizzes where teachers control the pace allowing the whole class to go through each question together.
  2.  Student paced lessons or quizzes allows students to progress at their own pace. A leaderboard and live results for each question or lesson is seen.
  3.  Students can Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) allowing them to always see the content on their own devices, whether a PC, laptop, tablet or a smartphone.
  4.  Users have access to millions of Quizzes. They can import public quiz as-is, edit and customize them as well.
  5.  (Quiz+ Lesson) Editor allows users to choose from six(6) different question types to add images, video and audio to teleporting questions from other quizzes and lessons.
  6.  Reports are given where users can get detailed class-level and student-level insights for every quiz. Teachers can share with parents/guardians to monitor student progress.
  7.   There is also an option to customize you quiz sessions to toggle the level of competition and speed.
  8.   Users can also share their quiz and collaborate with other instructors and / or ask them to be collaborators as well.

Let's think for a moment!!  What is Quizizz? 🤔      Quizizz is an interactive online/ web based, learning platform that offers multiple tools to make the classroom engaging.       Quizizz can be further defined as gamification software. it delivers and immersive content via gamification . With it, learners can participate in synchronous and asynchronous learning using a device, whether remotely or in person. At the same time, teachers receive instant data and feedback. Quizizz is also an E-learning assessment tool .  What can Quizizz for schools do? Teachers can: create lessons conduct formative assessments assign homework and have other interactions with his/her students in an exciting way.  Some of the question types that can be created in Quizizz include:  multiple choice true/false open-ended fill-in-the-blank matching and poll  Images and videos can also be included to your questions to make them more engaging.

Purpose of Study

     The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way the world does many things, and education has not been spared. Before the pandemic, technology was a tool that educators used to enhance learning in any subject area. During the pandemic, technology was no longer a strategy that educators used to improve learning, it became the core of education itself. Educators had to shift to technology- centered education. The full inclusion of technology into education during COVID changed the way how teachers and students gathered, accessed, analyzed, presented and transmitted information.       For me, the pandemic has forever changed my mindset of the importance of technology being integrated in my classroom.
